The Niceville Eagles Football team left for Orlando this morning to play in the FLORIDA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL game tomorrow, Friday, December 13th. Thank you to the many supporters who lined Old Coastal Highway and Highway 285 cheering the team to the final step in the journey to the State Championship! Many parents, students and community members are planning to travel and support the Eagle Football team. Please be careful, drive safely. For those unable to attend the championship game, Cox Communications will be televising the game on channels 319 and HD 1319. Programming begins at 6:00 p.m., Niceville time.
Listed below are updates for those planing to travel to the Citrus Bowl. Please note the section titled PROHIBITED ITEMS. This section contains rulings concerning items not permitted in the Citrus Bowl. Please note the section pertaining to noice making devices. This rule will be strictly adhered to.
For your safety and the safety of others, every person entering the Florida Citrus Bowl for the 2013 FHSAA Football Finals are subject to search by law enforcement officers or other security personnel.
Section 7:C of the FHSAA State Finals Participant Handbook states:
“Prohibited Items: Food/drinks containers, bottles, cans, thermoses, ice bags, ice chests, any artificial noise making devices (this includes air horns and other horns of any kind, cow bells, whistles of any kind, etc.),tripods, professional cameras with detachable lenses, flags, umbrellas, back packs, carry bags, chair backs larger than a single seat, or any items deemed hazardous by FHSAA, Florida Citrus Bowl or LOC will not be allowed in the stadium. Small hand held cameras and strollers that can fold and fit underneath a seat are permitted.”
Furthermore, Section 3.1.4 of the 2013-2014 FHSAA Handbook states:
“Noicemakers: Whistles, or artificial noisemaking devises that mimic or simulate a game whistle, air horns, and all other artificial or mechanical noisemaking devices, are prohibited in all state series events.“
Game Day: Friday, December 13, 2014
Game Time: 7:07 p.m. Eastern Time (6:07 p.m. Niceville time)
Niceville is designated as the home team and will sit in the west stands (press box side).
Seating will be encouraged in lower levels between the thirty-yard line markers, except for designated disabled and companion seating, as noted below. South End Zone seating is discouraged. Ushers will direct spectators to the proper areas.
No admission to the game will be permitted until the previous game spectators have cleared the stadium seats. The FHSAA contract requires clearing of the stadium at the conclusion of each game, each day. Stadium clearing will be done by ushers, on-field security volunteers, yellow shirt security, and OPD personnel.
At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, spectators will exit the stadium through the gates they entered (Refer to the previous section, Stadium Entry, regarding gate entrances). Gate A will ONLY be opened to the Centroplex staff. No one will be permitted to neither enter nor exit through this gate, unless wearing the proper credentials.
The commuter parking lots are located in the surrounding area of the Florida Citrus Bowl. The general parking lots for the FHSAA Football Finals are parking lots: A, B, D, F, L, P, R, S, and U. The fee to park will be $10.00.
No parking will be permitted on Thunder Field during the FHSAA Football Finals. Please obey all parking restrictions to avoid being ticketed or towed. Unless you hold a handicap-parking permit do not park in handicap spaces.

There is a reserved parking lot for handicap parking permits, located in lot H. A current valid handicap-parking permit must be displayed to use these spaces. The fee to park will be $10.00.
The ticket booth located at Gate C and D will be open two ours . The cost for tickets purchased at the gate is $12.00 ea. Tickets are available online at Ticket Master (there is an extra fee other than the price of the ticket). Reserved tickets: $18.90; General Admission: $13.80.

§ Take I-4 West (toward Orlando)
§ Take exit 83 on the left to merge onto South St.

STUDENTS RIDING THE SPIRIT BUS TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
NOTE: THIS DAY WILL COUNT AS AN ABSENCE, NOT SCHOOL LEAVE! The only students receiving school leave are football team members, cheerleaders, and band members. Students attending the Championship game Friday will receive an absence for classes missed. Students must bring a parent note requesting the absence be considered Excused (as long as the student is under the 9 day Absentee Policy).
The bus will stop on the way to the game for lunch and dinner (if time permits). Please bring extra money for food.
An announcement will be made at 7:45 a.m. dismissing students who have registered for the spirit buses. The buses will be located at the front of the school, not the bus ramp as previously advertised. The buses will leave promptly at 8:00 a.m. The buses will not wait for you if you are late! The bus will return immediately after the game. The estimated time of return after the game will be 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning. If you ride the bus down to the game, you MUST ride the bus home. There will be no exceptions made to this rule. While on the trip, you must follow all school rules and act appropriately. TSP in Niceville will continue to sell Niceville High School t-shirts. The Niceville High School Booster Club will receive $5.00 for each t-shirt sold by TSP.
