Niceville is a residential community located in the panhandle of Florida off the Gulf of Mexico. It is home to Eglin Air Force Base as well as numerous small businesses and industries including fishing, textiles, and government related contract work. GPA / CLASS RANK:
Rank in class is based on all courses; all students included. The GPA is based on a 4.0 scale with an extra 1.0 quality point awarded for Advanced Placement, honors, advanced level II, gifted studies and Dual Enrollment courses. NOTE: Beginning with the class of 2010 only Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement classes will receive the extra quality point. Honors, gifted studies, etc. will receive .5 extra quality point.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT AND HONORS CURRICULUM:
Twenty-seven AP courses are offered in the areas of World History, American Government, American History, European History, Economics, Psychology, Human Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, English, Music Theory, Art, Spanish, German, French, and Latin. Honors and advanced level course work are offered in the areas of English, mathematics, science, social studies, French, Spanish, German and gifted studies. Dual enrollment courses are offered through an articulation agreement with the local college.
