Niceville High School’s Digital Design students recently participated in a cover contest sponsored by Life’s a Beach magazine.  Jill Frakes, Digital Design teacher, invited Sam Seevers, Life’s a Beach editor, to speak to the Digital Design Class, which is comprised of 11th and 12th grader Digital Design 3 or 4 students, where she explained the contest and provided an overview of what the magazine looks for in a cover design.

The artwork should capture the playful, whimsical flair of the Emerald Coast, and incorporate vibrant colors and at least one palm tree. Brilliantly, contrasting colors in a vertical 2’ by 3’ format would work the best and the artwork must be ready for hanging.

Seevers and her staff returned to the school on Thursday, October 18, 2017, to announce the contest winners:

First Place – Azannah Morton, 12th grade
Azannah’s artwork will be displayed on the cover of an upcoming issue of Life’s a Beach, an Emerald Coast visitor’s guide, which distributes more than 500,000 copies annually.  She will also receive a featured editorial within the issue.

Second Place – Rendell Lucena, 12th grade

Third Place – Josie Jacks, 12th grade

Honorable Mention – Kaitlyn Ballard, 11th grade
