NHS choral director Michael Dye was recently elected president of the Florida School Music Association in Orlando.  He was recommended by the nomination committee and will also serve afterwards as past-president.

“It is an honor for me to represent our high school and school district in such a position, said Dye.

The Florida School Music Association is an organization governs the interscholastic activities of secondary music activities, sets regulations and enforces rules and regulations through its components, FVA, FBA and FOA.  It is the regulatory group for all secondary bands, choruses and orchestras.  The board is made up of representatives from the Florida School Board Association, Superintendents Association, Secondary Principals Association, the FL DOE, Homeschool Association and other secondary school organizations.
