This past weekend, Mimi Taylor, a senior at Niceville High School did her best at the Distinguished Young Women of Florida and took home the state title. In June, she will represent Florida by competing in the national Distinguished Young Women program. This past summer, Taylor was named the Okaloosa County Distinguished Young Woman of 2016. While the program is not considered a pageant — there are no crowns or bikinis — it is the first pageant-like program Taylor had been a part of.

Last week Taylor arrived in Winter Garden. She was immediately thrown into hours of rehearsals. She and the rest of the Distinguished Young Women from around the state toured the local area and even got a behind the scenes tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Taylor said she made a lot of lasting friendships through the week.

Best wishes at Nationals in June!
