The faculty and staff at Niceville High School invite current 8th graders zoned for Niceville High School to attend a high school orientation program in our auditorium. Parents from Ruckel Middle School should attend Monday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. and parents from Destin, Lewis and STEMM schools should attend on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. The focus of this program will be to provide information about graduation requirements, the many elective programs offered at Niceville High School and the overall registration process for next school year. This meeting will mainly be for parents so that you may hear the information that will be presented to students when guidance counselors visit your child’s school. Parents of students who have approved zoning waivers may attend on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m.
On February 10, guidance counselors from Niceville High School will visit Destin, Lewis and STEMM schools during the school day to review the curriculum guide, hand out registration forms, and answer any questions your child may have. They will visit Ruckel Middle School on Feb. 11. With your help, and the help of your child’s teachers, students will select courses in math, English, science, and social studies that are the best fit for them. Students will also choose three elective credits.
The final step of the registration process will be completed online at Destin, Lewis and STEMM schools on Feb. 17. Ruckel Middle School online registration will be completed on Feb. 18. Guidance counselors from Niceville High School will be at your child’s school to help them complete the online registration process during the school day. Students will need to bring their completed and signed registration form with them on their assigned day. They will also need to have their student ID in order to register online. This is the ID used to check grades on Parent Portal.
We look forward to having you as part of the Eagle family. Please visit our website at www.nicevillehighschool.org to find more information about registration and to view our 9th Grade Curriculum Guide. If you have questions, please contact your school or give us a call at 833-4114 (Guidance).
